Fall nesting Week 3 – Front Porch decorating

Hi again! This is Week 3 of the Fall Nesting Party over at www.theinspiredroom.net, and I am having so much fun getting into the spirit of blogging. Since we don’t have a fireplace in this house, I don’t have a mantel to show. However, I do have  some fall touches going on at the front door. Let’s take a peek!

Walking on the front path around to the entry porch, you will see that I enjoy using heirloom pumpkins and gourds, especially because of their unique colors, fun shapes and quirky textures. The bluish-gray ones go well with the exterior colors of the house. I simply added spanish moss under the large pumpkins in the planters, then arranged the other pumpkins/gourds around the steps.

A simple wreath from Joann crafts echoes the fall colors of the pumpkins.

I draped a soft faux fur throw over the porch swing and added a colorful pillow outside. Still need to stain that swing… What color should I choose?

The dogs love to sit on their bed outside in the sunshine on the backyard patio. They range in age from almost 14 to 3 yrs old and get along so well, as you can see:)   I like to relax with them and watch the birds at the feeders.

Hope you enjoyed the porch tour! The pups say goodbye for now – come back next week and we will talk holiday planning.
